Ihram & Makkah
Entering ihram at the miqat, then tawaf and sa'i. Most packages include several nights in Makkah before the Hajj days begin.
Performed once a year, on fixed dates, under a quota system. It is the most regulated journey we arrange and the one where checking who you are paying matters most.
This is not caution for its own sake. UK pilgrims lose money to unauthorised Hajj sellers every single year.
Saudi Arabia allocates each country a Hajj quota and requires packages to be sold through operators registered on its Nusuk platform. An operator without that authorisation cannot deliver a Hajj, however convincing the brochure. Trading Standards, ABTA and the Council of British Hajjis all run warnings about this, and the losses are real — deposits taken for pilgrimages that never existed. Before you pay a penny, ask for the operator's authorisation in writing and check it independently. We will tell you which operator holds the booking and give you what you need to verify it yourself. If we cannot source an authorised package for your dates, we will say so rather than sell you something else.
The rites, in order, and what a package must cover for each.
Entering ihram at the miqat, then tawaf and sa'i. Most packages include several nights in Makkah before the Hajj days begin.
8 Dhul Hijjah. Tented accommodation, and the category matters enormously — location within Mina, air conditioning and occupancy per tent.
9 Dhul Hijjah, the day of wuquf and the essential pillar of Hajj. Long, hot, and the reason physical preparation matters.
The night at Muzdalifah, then the stoning at the Jamarat over three days. Ask how far your Mina camp is from the Jamarat bridge.
Usually before or after the Hajj days. Masjid an-Nabawi, and the Rawdah on a Nusuk timed permit.
The sacrifice, then halq or taqsir, then tawaf al-ifadah. Confirm whether qurbani is arranged within the package or separately.
Package tiers here are defined by the Mina camp, not the hotel.
Distance to the Jamarat bridge, tent category, air conditioning and how many share. This drives the price far more than the Makkah hotel.
Same principle as Umrah — ask for the distance in metres, and whether it's walking or shuttle.
Non-shifting keeps one hotel throughout; shifting moves you further out for the Hajj days at a lower price.
Ask the group size, whether there's an English-speaking scholar, and the ratio of guides to pilgrims.
Hajj falls on 8–13 Dhul Hijjah and moves roughly eleven days earlier each year against the Gregorian calendar.
Because the Islamic calendar is lunar, the Hajj dates shift each year and have fallen in the hottest months in recent years, with temperatures in Makkah and Mina regularly exceeding 45°C. That has real consequences for elderly pilgrims and anyone with a health condition. Booking typically opens nine to eighteen months ahead and authorised packages sell out. We will confirm the expected dates for your intended year, noting that final dates depend on the moon sighting.
Direct to Jeddah (JED) or Madinah (MED), typically 6h 30m. Hajj-period flights are heavily booked and priced accordingly.
A Hajj visa, issued through the authorised operator and the Nusuk system. It cannot be arranged independently.
Meningitis ACWY certificate required. Discuss fitness with your GP well ahead — this is a physically demanding journey.
Pay the company against an invoice, never cash to an individual. Ask what financial protection applies before you pay.
We'll tell you honestly whether we can source an authorised package for your dates, name the operator, and give you what you need to verify them yourself.
Ask for it in writing and verify independently rather than taking their word. We name the operator holding your booking and tell you how to check. If we can't source an authorised package, we'll say so.
Guide prices only. UK agents currently advertise Hajj 2027 from about £3,500 for a budget shifting package, £4,500–£5,500 mid-range and £6,500–£9,100 for five-star non-shifting. Your figure depends on the year, the quota, the Mina camp category and the hotels, and is confirmed in writing before you pay.
Nine to eighteen months. Authorised packages are quota-limited and sell out, and the good Mina camps go first.
Ask that question before you pay, and get the answer in writing — who holds your money, what protection applies, and what the refund terms are.
Flights, accommodation and transfers as one package. Every one can be reshaped — different dates, different board, a different airport, or a stopover on the way.
Guide prices, per person, based on two sharing, including return flights, accommodation and transfers. They indicate what a holiday of this type has typically cost and are not an offer or a quotation. Your price depends on dates, party, board basis, departure airport and availability, and is confirmed in writing before any payment is taken.
Same rites, same visa, same flights — what changes is how much room you have around them. Every one can be reshaped around your dates.
Many pilgrims break the journey on the way out or back. These itineraries can be reshaped around your pilgrimage dates.
