Vienna
The grandest of them all. Around twenty markets across the city, imperial architecture behind them, and the best coffee houses in Europe for when it gets cold.
- Rathausplatz
- The big one in front of the town hall, with an ice rink and a tree. Busiest and most photographed.
- Schönbrunn
- In front of the palace. Smaller, smarter, and considerably calmer than the town hall.
- Spittelberg
- Cobbled lanes of small craft stalls. The one locals actually recommend.
- Coffee houses
- Central, Sacher, Hawelka. A two-hour sit-down is a legitimate Viennese activity, not a break from one.
